Contests are very frequent with my broker. I was also able to experience the demo contest back when I still haven't opened a real account. And it is impressive that the demo contests are the same with the real contests except for the capital used.

I think the main purpose of demo contests is for demo traders to be motivated in the trading activities. And honestly, it works well. Since I know that I am only using virtual funds, I did not take any precaution in my trading actions. But when I saw that there are contests, I became more serious in my actions.

It definitely will! I started out with a demo account too, and I actively participated in the demo contests. My training paid off and I was able to win in a contest. Now I am trading using a real account and all of the skills I've developed when I was still demo trading proved to be useful now. And of course, I was able to freely use my prize money.
